Post Birthday Updates

A few days ago I had a birthday, which I enjoyed.  Birthday's for me have been kind of low key for many years now, but they don't make me sad or anything like that.  Unrelated to the birthday, this week has been a stressful one at work with many things seeming to unravel.  I almost started today feeling very overwhelmed and out of control, but somehow I switched from that point of view to being upbeat about solving problems and getting things taken care of.  How very positive of me.


This weekend is the annual Mixed International bonpsiel at the curling club, which should be a bit of fun.  My mom, sister, and Athena are headed back to New Orleans to work, which is great.  I was tempted to go, but just couldn't bring myself to do it.  Because of that, though, Samantha the dog will be staying with me through next week and I'm looking forward to it.
Recently I made some purchases I am happy with: a paper shredder and a robot.

Untitled

Wow, stressful week so far for BenPositive.  Everything will work out, but it seems like a lot is in the air right now.  I like to go onsite to customers, though, so finding out today that I need to be near Houston Monday is not so bad.  But rarely does anyone go onsite to customers because everything is going perfectly well.


Actually, though, once I got over feeling sick about it somehow things became more upbeat.  I'll go and we'll fix whatever is happening, and everything will be fine.  Then I'll come back and all our development processes here with be worked out.

The best news, though, is that curling starts tomorrow.  The first match up will be tough, both because it's been a while now since I've been on the ice and also because we play a pretty good team right away, but it will be fun regardless.  I think the next 22 hours will be an odd mix of extra stress about performing well and stress relief from getting ready to do something I enjoy so much.

I still need a haircut, need to mow the lawn before it snows again, and have enjoyed writing this evening.
